General Info
Venue
The classes, workshops and concert will all be held at St. Peter's Quamichan Anglican Church hall, in Duncan, BC. The church is located at 5800 Church Rd., between Maple Bay and Tzouhalem Rd., just past the Cowichan Lodge.
Who is it meant for?
The workshop is meant as an experiential learning situation for all students of music, and as professional development for teachers of music. The workshops are designed for students ages 11 and up, and younger students are welcome to the Concert and the Feast. Many adult students participate, and the choral class is particularly designed for choirs and soloists in the Cowichan and beyond.
How to Register
Download, print, and fill in the registration form, and take it to your music teacher. (Your teacher will submit it and your fee, and you'll get your entry ticket from your teacher a week before).
If you don't have a CVMTA teacher, please email Marilyn Rummel (marilyn@harpcanada.com) to register directly. Marilyn is the registrar - you may direct any questions about registration to her.
Registration deadline is Oct. 30th. There may be some spaces available after that date, but the Early Bird price will not apply. Register by Oct. 30th to get the best prices and assure yourself of a seat!
The Cost?
The cost is very reasonable - priced so that you can take one class (or event), or many. Until Oct. 30, the cost is $15 for one class, $40 for 3 classes, $12 each for more than 3 classes, and - best deal of all - 6 or more for $65. The classes are "per person". The feast is considered free to anyone who has taken a class; donation accepted for others. The weekend is an incredible bargain, and we hope to be full to the brim for every event! After the Early Bird registration deadline, the cost will be $15 per class, for all classes that have room in them.
Presented by the CVMTA
The Cowichan Valley Music Teachers Association is an association of private and school music teachers who teach in the valley, as well as in Victoria and Nanaimo. We raise funds to present workshops for our students, and to help assist with the cost of lessons through our bursary and award fund.
